As many of you know I have been supporting the Lance Armstrong Foundation for about four years now and am again taking part in there fund raising efforts. Today is Livestrong Day and it is a day where we try to raise awareness for the LAF and to raise money. For those of you who don't know, much like Lance I would not be who or where I am today had Cancer not touched my life. While in High School my mom was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. During this time I began cooking out of necessity and without that need I probably wouldn't be where I am today.
So on this day I think we should all take some time and think about how we have been effected by cancer for better or for worse and how we can help those around us who are dealing with Cancer today. Thank You

Red Hen Shortbread
Red Hen dinner @ OXO
Richard's Ridiculously good radishes with whipped butter Maldon salt and cucumber shallot salad
Some more of Richard's produce Shaved raw asparagus with warm bacon vin and crispy parm
Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of the next two dishes. First seared scallop with fennel apple slaw and roasted beets. Then braised local chicken breast with foie gras dirty rice local morels and maple jus.
For some reason I assumed one of our local stores would have local strawberries after I had seen them at the market but unfortunately they didn't. But I still like this dish on the left is a strawberry tarragon salad with whipped balsamic. Next sliced strawberries with black pepper syrup. Finally warm strawberry noodles with vanilla thyme sauce.
Thanx to the guys at OXO, Patrick, Noah and of course John for letting me use the kitchen and some of his ingredients.
